Two Quilts Done!!

I made 2 quilts this weekend for my mutts! Just a very basic design - 8 inch blocks and finished quilt size is 40x40. I used fleece as batting and multi-color flannel as the backing. Not able to take photos, but here's the link to my focus fabric - it was love at first sight! The blender is a lemon yellow with orange swirly things on it. They turned out really cute, and Kaz and Murphy approve!

Well. So long as Kaz and Murph approve. With a fleece batting and a flannel backing, we would think you had a sure bet but not necessarily. Glad your furry fellow think they're just right. How did you quilt with your ceilings torn down or put up or whatever stage you're into? Polly

That fabric is so cute! I love dog-themed fabrics, of course. I wish we could see the quilts, but I have no doubt that your two love them. :)

I thought the fleece/flannel/cotton combo would be just dandy for warmth. My two are rather cold sensitive.

The ceiling remodel is going on downstairs but the sewing is going on UPstairs, so all the chaos and disorder is beneath my beloved sewing room!! But, I cover my machine anyway, just incase anything falls "up"!!

Oh! I adore dog themed fabric too. When I saw this, I just HAD to make quilts for my boys. And it's really a nice, heavyish cotton, and washed up beautifully. I'm very pleased, as are the "kids". Just very simple, alternating blocks, and birthed. The dogs don't care if it has HST's or an applique design... lol.

haven't made a quilt for stanley. He thinks every quilt I make is for him. He tries to lie on them when I'm basting and I get the hurt look when I push him off. If we're on the sofa under a quilt he will whine until he's let up to cuddle with us.

Ohhhhh Gina - there are SO many cute dog prints out now, everywhere! You simply must make a quilt for your sweet Stanley. My dogs slept on theirs for the first time last night, and they took to them like fish to water. It did my heart good!

Oh, that's cute, Patti. Somehow I missed the original post. Stupid Earthlink!! My mutt chews up everything I give him, so no quilts for him!!
