I got all the blocks printed with the pictures for my mom' memory quilt. Now I have some green pants and a gray and white argyle lookinig sweater of my deceased father that I would like to use some way in the quilt. Do I need to stabilize the sweater someway or if I sew a strip of cotton, strip of sweater and another strip of cotton together as a block would that keep it from stretching badly?
There are five 8.5 x 11 pictures going into the quilt. One in the middle setting 11 x 8.5 with a picture of mom and dad. Then up above dad and to his left will be a 8.5 x 11 and to my mother's right will be a 8.5 x 11. To the bottom of my dad will be another 8.5 x 11 and to the bottom of my mom will be another 8.x 11. So there will be several blocks needed to fill in the missing pieces.
It will sort of look like this:
Pic 8.5 x 11 Need Block Here Pic 8.5 x 11
Block here ------Pic 11x8.5----------- Block Here
Pic 8.5 x 11 Block here Pic 8.5 X 11
The lines are representing the pictures. Sorry it is so lousy. Any ideas on what kind of blocks I could use with these clothes. The pants are cotton but the sweater is quite stretchy. They will be quite large blocks.
Thanks.
