Memory Quilt Question

I am thinking about making a memory quilt for my mom for Christmas this year. I would like to print the photos on photo paper that can be sewn onto the quilt directly. The last photo paper I purchased was 'EasyImage" by Wilton (it was on sale at Michael's) and it will NOT go through my printer! I guess because it's material. I've never had a problem like that with any photo paper.

What's some good material paper that some of you have used? Or do you use the iron on photo paper for memory quilts? I will be doing mainly pictures.

Thanks.

I only use Printed Treasures for photos. It goes through my HP printer with no problems. I don't use the less expensive photo products from Michal's or Jo-Ann's. I used them when I first did a small photo wall hanging, and I was very unhappy with them. I trashed that wall hanging, and used Printed Treasures. It is more expensive, but I think the quality is much better. This is just my opinion. I definitely would not use the iron on photo paper. I have also tried that, and the results were awful.

I agree with Sherry, Helen. The Printed Treasures is really good stuff, though I've heard some people say that the EQ brand is good, too -- just haven't tried it myself.

Helen, is this project going to be very small or are you planning a bedsize quilt needing lots of photos? Even on ebay, the Printed Treasures are expensive. An alternate method that works very nicely is to dry iron freezer paper onto a fine white fabric such as the one by Kona Bay. Of course, you'd want to do a test first to see if you're happy with the printing quality and what you'd have after laundry. Polly
