RCS Scrapbook Cruise Update

Carnival has advised me that they have 4 more cabins, two inside and two outside that are stillbeing held for us at our group rate. Cruise is 4 nights on the Carnival Inspiration which was recently refurbished and leaves on March 5th, 2009 from Tampa returning Monday morning. We have two scrapping days at sea and a day in Cozumel to shop, snorkle or sit on the beach and bake!

There is a conference room set aside for us to scrap in for the whole cruise and each scrapbooker will get a goody bag from yours truly. Each cabin also gets a $50 onboard credit to share amongst the occupants. Carnival will return the 4 cabins to their inventory for general sale on Oct 31st so please do get in touch with me ASAP. Your cabin mate does not have to scrapbook and if you don't someone to come with, perhaps there will be someone else interested that can share your cabin.

I don't know about anyone else but I am excited!!! I just can't wait to see my RCS friends and to have them meet some of my other friends and my DS and his GF.

Yes I am excited too M-C!! I wish we could afford for my DH and boys to go too, but maybe some other time. DH wants to go on an Alaskan cruise someday!

So who all is going? You've all been on my mind and I've been thinking to ask for an update the last few days. How much is the cruise M-C? The tough part is the getting there. Thinking, thinking.... Cozumel would require a passport, won't it? I know that The Bahamas doesn't because I recently passed on a cruise out of Jacksonville for the same week and I'm still regretting it.

The bahamas DOES require a passport. You always show your passport at the end of the cruise for sure, not necessarily in the bahamas itself. They do ask for you to carry it with you in case something happens. All cruises do as of January 2008. On our Alaskan cruise we need a passport because we went into international waters and we stopped in Canada. We only had to report to customs what we got in Canada, not ALL the stuff we got in Alaska.

So if you went to the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.... then you only report what you got in the bahamas to customs. Besides on the cruise ship there is a separate immagration paper you have to fill out before you stop in the Bahamas. It would be included in your pack, at least it was ours.

Passports are only approx. $100 give or take where you get your picture and a few other charges on it. THey last 10 years though.

The cabins are priced as follows:

$379 + $51.90 + $20 = $450.90 Outside cabin $339 + $51.90 + $20 = $410.90 Inside cabin

That is including all the taxes. It does not include gratuity and drinks, but there is a $50 per cabin credit to help with that. As for getting to Tampa, could you perhaps meet up with Kenda and Deb in Little Rock and drive here with them?

From RCS we have Kenda, Deb, Linda, Sandy, Scout Lady as well as myself. I hope I didn't forget anyone! It would be awesome if more of you could make it. The current deposit requirement is $150 and the final payment is due in early January.

As for a passport, you an use a passport card which is cheaper than an actual passport. However, if anything happens and you need to fly back to the US from Mexico, you will not be able to get on a plane without an actual passport, so personally I think a passport though it costs a little bit more si worth it in the long run.
