Oops, sorry, my bad. ;-\
Sure, I could probably get away with that: "Q. I love your hair, what salon do you use? A.Oh, it's that little place called "Mother Nature's Design", you know down the street from Father Time's Fix-it Shop."

Just barely, believe me. I should have postponed the major dunning out of my workspace and started sewing the top days ago instead.
At 4:30pm, I even resorted to "stitch-in-the-ditch" to tack down the facing at the neckline, and I *never* do that. But time was running out, it was either get it done fast-and-dirty or wear the back-up outfit.
Thank you so much! ;-)
Beverly
Indeed!
Thanks! All the seams and darts (except the armseye which I serged after sewing) were sewn with narrow French seams, and the bias hems were hand blind-stitched. I will remove the last-minute machine stitch-in-the-ditch to tack the facings and do it properly by hand, but I was delighted that I was able to wear it.

Ok, I'll send the pet-psychiatrist bill to you, my dog just leapt 20 feet in alarm when I guffawed at that! Sheesh, you might warn a gal.

I held this yardage up to my body and looked in a full length mirror, changing it from "nap up" to "nap down" too see which way I liked best. It turned out that nap down produced the best silvery highlights, so that's how I cut it. It was the bias hem that had me chewing bullets and screaming obscenities. Grrrrrr

Ooops. Sorry. But it's true, you know.
That's not bad. I did get my hair cut a week ago. I took my photo of Judi Dench, and said, as I do, "Make me look like that." They never do, but usually get the haircut right. This one forgot to stop, and I left with 1/2 inch of hair. I have this overwhelming urge to shout "Drop and give me 20," but I'm fighting it.
Beverly,
Just beautiful. Well done.

Unfortunately, without help my hair makes me look 30 years older and like I borrowed it from Methusela's granny! So I colour it and wear it up most of the time, which keeps it from tangling in the sewing or dropping in the soup! ;)
I deeply envy my friend with 'natural highlights'. :)
'Technical langueage' for technical difficulties! ;)
My father's shade is whispering: 'Shave it all off and paint flowers on instead!' His ever ready answer to teen angst about hair!

I noticed this as early as the 15th reunion of my class...it was amazing.
Glad you had a good time!

Oh Beverly!!! That is gorgeous!! And it looks absolutely stunning on you. No one would ever know it was that down to the wire either. lol Great job all the way around. I second (or fifth or whatever...) that you wear that again and again. ;) Looks gorgeous and (even bigger plus!!) oh so comfortable too.
Marvelous work, although, I expect nothing else from you. ;)

Yeah. But my kids would much rather hear about the decidedly un-cool moments.
ROTFHLSHIWMP!!!!!!!
It's verrrrry close to that, Kate. Was sort of astonishing, as I've long threatened to get a buzzcut, and suddenly I've got one! The look on DH's face was worth it, though. ROFLOL!
I regularly give James a No 4 buzz... It's amazing how fast it grows back! And I had mine coloured just over a week ago, and already there's a quarter inch of root showing!
Thank goodness it is growing a bit. My hair grows fast, thick, and heavy. It's straight enough that when it was long, I thought about selling some for watch springs. Years ago, I "highlighted" it, but now that I've got some good honest gray, well-earned I might add, I leave it to its own devices. It certainly doesn't take long to dry after I shampoo and shower!
A former co-worker used to ask his daughter why a lovely blonde like herself would go to all that trouble to dye her roots brown.
Of course it is, you're the second coolest gal around... after me! ;->
Beverly
Now I'm seeing Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd as those Wild and Crazy Guys on SNL......cool, man!
