Finished just in time!

Finished a hoard of ufo's just in time for them to be my Christmas decorations. A small wall hanging of an angel, a larger one of a Partridge in a Pear Tree, a table runner from a RCNQ mystery and a Christmassy lap quilt. All started about 3 years ago. Also the October, November/December part of my Carol Doak calendar which hangs in the window between the hall and kitchen so that visitors can't see the chaos I produce when I cook! Have everything ready for the January/Feb/March one, but no time at the moment. The current one may stay up for rather longer than it should!

They are in the 'Finished just in time' section. (and in the completed quilts section too because I haven't found my way round Flikr properly yet). As you can see we have had a little bit of snow too though its been raining tonight so hopefully it wont freeze and will all be gone in the morning - I hope!)

Festive good wishes and a peaceful and quilty 2010 to everyone.

What a grand group! No wonder you feel triumphant. The hall/kitchen hanging is lovely. Those maple leaves are stunning. The quilting on the Christmas tree reverse is just marvellous. . In message , Sally Swindells writes

Sally, those are all wonderful. I love the quilting on the lap quilt - great picture of the reverse side. And while I really like the front of the calendar quilt - the back is a big hit in my book. The leaves are so colorful. Your angel and partridge are so nice as well. The only bad thing is that I'm feeling ashamed that I haven't been as proficient as you!

Thanks. I thought that the only way to conquer my terror of fmq was just to go at it, and I do find leaves and swirls easier than anything else! The window hanging has leaves too, and so does the Partridge!

I had a net curtain at that window so its so nice to see a bit of colour in the kitchen which is a light wood with pale tiles in off whites of various tones - bland. I might turn it round for a change when the calender side is out of date until I get the next one ready. I only have a week to do it in and family here for 5 of those days!

Thanks - it was just a case of gritting my teeth and going for it! Not proficient at all, just foolhardy! (and lucky!)

Sally what gorgeous pieces! I especially love the Partridge. :-) Oh and the quilting on your Christmas tree quilt is out of this world!

Fantastic job all around!

Thanks. I used the partridge before on my sampler quilt, but the Christmas one has been sitting waiting for me to pluck up the courage to fmq which happens on a wing and a prayer!

I've got 2 gardeny quilts ready for quilting so I can use leaves again on those, but I'll have to branch out (sorry!) on the Starry Night which is in the queue. I used to be able to doodle rather abstract stars - wonder if I still can. Otherwise it will be a starry night viewed through a tree.
