Re: Another one finished

The quilt for a friend's grandson Sam finished, so now I can get back to those ufo's that have been looking at me hopefully for so long - or perhaps even weed the garden!

Now that it has rained, I reckon there is a weed in every single raindrop. It's very difficult to pull up weeds that cover the soil and don't stick up!! . In message , Sally Swindells writes

After however many dry week, DS2 was on his first scout camp of the season and just as they started to pitch the tents on Friday night the heavens opened. Luckily today was kind enough to be sunny & windy until after they struck camp so at least they were able to pack dry tents. We have had heavy hail-y rain and thunder on and off since then.

Thanks. Every time I really get going with ufo's something that HAS to be done - a deadline or a baby quilt where I don't want the baby to be an adult before I finish it! comes along and the thing I really want to do gets put on one side. At the moment most ufo's are almost finished or in the middle of being quilted but stalled.

Our weather here - unlike the rest of the country is still warm and sunny and crying out for rain. Everyone else seems to be enjoying the wet stuff at last, but we are in on the east coast in the bit that bulges out, and as the rain tends to come across from the west it has all been used up by the time it gets anywhere near us. Our poor grass is still miserable after last year (we of course had a hot summer while the rest of the country were complaining about the awful one! They did have an early 3 day heat wave, but for those three days we had a strong foggy sea-fret!
