50th Reunion Outfit

I had a great time, and finished the outfit just in the nick of time, so I felt very upbeat about meeting all those old farts. When did they all get so OLD??? ;-}

That's lovely! Such beautiful fabric, and such a suitable pattern. I don't need to comment on the making - perfect as usual! :)

I could believe this was a 20th reunion, but never a 50th! You look fab.

Congrats!

You're only as old as you feel.

I still feel like 25. Too bad I don't look it! ;-)

It looks beautiful! I love the fabric and especially the detail on the back hem. I also find it hard to believe it was your 50th reunion. Maybe you skipped a few grades??

Thanks, Kate! I loved the fabric, but it's difficult to work with, the "thick-n-thin" aspect makes for some interesting challenges.

Ah, you do my heart good... ;-}

Thanks! I needed to catch stitch the front facings down, but I ran out of time. I'll do it before I wear the outfit again, I was constantly fiddling with them, trying to keep them in place.

Thanks much! It was very comfortable, so I should be able to wear it on several other occasions.

In that case, I'm only 42...

It was shocking how many of my former classmates I was not able to recognize at all without looking at their nametags. But a few looked almost exactly the same. It was a fun evening, they had arranged for the ensemble singing group to serenade us, and we were cheering for their renditions of some of the songs from the 50s.

Beautiful outfit! It looks great on you.

Thanks, Kirsten! It was those bias hems front and back which almost proved to be my undoing. If EVER I write I'm going to make a garment out of burn-out velvet which includes bias hems, someone just shoot me!

Nope 18 when I graduated, 68 today. And I don't feel a day over 42... ;-}

Thanks, I was very pleased it worked out so well. I still want to make a V-neck tank of the sparkle Slinky, but that will wait for another day...or maybe our 60th. ;-]

A guild friend was all excited about her upcoming 50th reunion one meeting. Next month I saw her and had to ask how it went. She informed me she was disappointed, nothing but a bunch of old folks there! Funny how we stay young and others age. Taria

I knew it would be posh. Absolutely,drop dead gorgeous.The model is also gorgeous. You look sensational in it. I'd wear it every chance I get. Aren't 50th reunions a shock to your system. It really is how come all these old people are here when I'm not that old. I didn't make my high school 50th but did go to DH's. I also went to the 50th of my nursing school class. Couldn't believe how old my classmates were. I felt like I was about 35. As some one else posted I don't look it though. Juno

It was really weird. I had dug out my old senior year yearbook and reviewed the photos. I was shocked at how few of my friends looked enough like their graduation pictures to be recognizable. I suppose they all wondered who *I* was, too. ;-}

Beverly, who is glad my twin sister was there, at least we knew each other!

Not bad at all for an old broad! I love the way you frost your hair. ;-)

I didn't go to my 50th reunion. It was in Pennsylvania, oddly enough because that's where the high school is.... But the committee put together two booklets. In one, they put the pictures from the yearbook with updated information. In the other, they had pictures of the event, identifying all that were there. It was......an eye-opener to say the least. Fascinating. I concluded that high school is not really all that reliable a predictor of later life.

What an awsome outfit, Beverly. Love the fabric and the way it 'falls.'

Wow. I hope I look as good as you do when I am old enough for my 50th reunion.
