arrgh

I'm really ticked off today. Started out that we were iced in and couldn't get out of the driveway. rained all day yesterday on top of the snow. Had appointments for today that I had to cancel, and knowing that if it's a nice sunny day and freezing tonight, the driveway will be even worse tomorrow, so I canceled tomorrow's appointments too. Next step, go down to the sewing room to check and be sure my fabric for my jacketis on grain. Decided to remeasure it, you guessed it. I don't have as much as I thought I had. Spent 2 hours on this blasted computer looking for something else. Finally found a light blue twill for the jacket. It was inexpensive enough that I didn't mind ordering it and will use the sage green for something else. Now I'm going to watch my favorite small college male basketball team loss another game. They have won 3 all season. With my luck the Packers will lose the Superbowl tonight. Juno

Oh, dear!

With all the frenetic activity this week and yesterday, I went back to bed after lunch. Ninner will be at 9:00pm and I have sewing to catch up with. Still, I was safer in bed than at the sewing machine!

Well, I wouldn't mind being back in bed right now, but that's going to happen because I would be so restless it would be a waste of time.

I have days like that, and luckily, my DH often elects to have a bowl of cereal for dinner on those days. He never eats cereal for breakfast, only in the evening. He also knows how to heat a bowl of soup, make a simple sandwich, snack on crackers and cheese. Such talent, eh? ;-)

arrgh, indeed! I hope your weather turns spring-like soon.

One reason I miss the old Simplicity site is that it was so easy to check to see if the stash bit I wanted to use was big enough, by looking at the yardage requirements for something similar to what I wanted to make. Now I use Vogue or Butterick.

You actually care? :-}

If we're lucky maybe March will be better, not good, just better. This winter is making a pessimist of me. I've always been optimistic about a lot of things, but that seems to be slipping into the dust, or maybe I should say snow.

The thing is, I did measure it before and was wrong. From now on I think I'll measure after I wash fabric and put a tag on it.

Yup! Football pools and the college team we follow, lost again. Juno

It's hard to remain A Cockeyed Optimist while the weather is horrible, terrible, disgusting, dangerous...

That's what I have done for many years. I serge the ends, machine wash and dry, fold INSIDE OUT, and pin on a note. In addition to "X.x yards" and "X wide", I write fiber content and the pattern number I had in mind when I bought the yardage. Although that is subject to change.... Yes, it is sometimes a few years before I get around to using stash.

So sorry. Although I cannot imagine why anyone cares about football.

Not the game, the pool. I hardly watch the game. Juno
