Hello Note

Dear Emily, I'm finally back at my computer. Thank for your note about thanksgiving and the pictures of the stole and altar cloth. You daughter did a beautiful job. I'm sure you are more than just a little proud of her work, as you should be. Your Thanks giving sounds like you had a delightful day. It's so much fun to cook the foods that mean Thanksgiving to you. Duane, Angela, Miranda and Matt were here for dinner and Jac came over later for dessert. We dispensed with the traditional turkey and had roasted chicken instead. We all prefer chicken to turkey. I kept dinner simple but it was delicious. We had mashed potatoes, Green beans with almonds, broccoli , stuffing , home made cranberry relish and cranberry sauce. We also had a very nice salad, and rolls. for desert we had apple crisp, pumpkin cheese cake and brownies. We had a very enjoyable day. Since then I've been busy trying to get my cards done, do some shopping and go to the gym and the basketball games. I'm doing better at the gym and don't come home as tired. Matt came to stay with us Thursday morning and he left yesterday afternoon. He can't go back to daycare until he sees the doctor tomorrow for his post surgical check up. He was such a doll. he's very independent, doesn't want help with anything. He loves to help out in the house. He vacuumed in his bedroom and the kitchen and living room. he also helped put laundry in the washer and dryer, and fold his clothes. He made his bed himself and helped make mine. All this from a 3 1/2 yo. This past Wednesday, Bill and I cut down our Christmas tree. We got a Concolour fir. they are my favorite tree. The needles smell like oranges when you touch them. We put the tree in the stand today and when we went to put the lights on realized that we threw them all out last year. So we had to go down to Home Depot for lights. they only had 3 strands left. I couldn't believe it. We put them up and decided to leave the rest of the decorating until tomorrow. I a;so have to go for my follow up CAT SCAN tomorrow. I have my 6 month check up with my pulmonary doctor next week. That's about it for now. Oops, I forgot one more thing, Jac took the MA teaches certification Exam last week. She won't get results until the end of January. There was one area she didn't think she did well in. When we talked about it she said she didn't realize she could take the exam over several days instead of all in one day. She said that knowing that she's not worried because she can retake any part if she needs to. I reminded her that since she hasn't had any teaching courses yet she shouldn't worry at all. She'll have plenty of time to study up for the part she wasn't sure of once she starts her education classes, if necessary. I have to admire her willingness to take the exam with out having had any formal training yet. Her experiences in education have all been in the administrative end rather than the classroom. That's because she was the Registrar and Director of Admission in the College she worked at in Washington State. That's about it for now. Fondly, Juno
