And just in time. :) Didn't think I would ever get it done. Was just about ready to rip the phone out of the wall. (everyone calls when you're on deadline right??? lol)

I took a TON of pictures. Some of the captions are long, so you might want to hit pause when the slide show starts and then use the buttons and advance it at your own pace. Juno, I tried to take pictures of anything odd in the construction. Can't wait to see your coat too! :)

The only major issue I didn't see ahead of time was the pocket placement. When tried the pattern on myself, it looked alright. But when I got this one to a point I could try it on, the pocket bags stuck out past the bottom of the jacket. What a poop!! So I moved them up a couple inches. I wanted to cry to take out that topstitching, but it all came out fine in the end.

And really, I've had this fabric stashed for 8 or 9 years. And it is a cashmere blend. So it (and me too!) deserved my best work. :) I'm tickled with it. I will try to get a picture of it on me this weekend. :)

Whew!!!

Sharon, I love your coat. Thanks for all the pics. I've been looking at Fabric.com and saw some real pretty things. I was thinking in terms of a pretty floral and a bright lining.. Not sure yet. I'm working my brain around it. Tomorrow is a saage green cotton twill skirt and Wednesday I'll probably start my silk herring bone. I also have some things to make for the little girls and promised a couple of adult bibs to my sister-in law. I though I might do pretty aprons for her instead of bibs. I think they look less invalid looking. Juno

Thank you so much!! :) I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I hope the pics are useful. Down the line.

Whew!! You've got a full schedule there!! I agree, aprons would be fun. And they would work too. I wear an apron to cook a lot of times and will frequently leave it on to eat too. (I likes me some food and can get a little excited sometimes!!! LOL) I bet she would be tickled with those. And then she could use them for other things too. Like cooking, or cleaning the counters in the kitchen, or........ My aprons get a lot of use!! I got tired of ruining my clothes.

Thank you, Betsey!! I really loooooove the texture of this fabric. I so wish I could pass a swatch around so you all could pet it too. (well, you know it has to be fabulous if Her Royal Majesty wants to nap on it. LOL)

If I don't try I'll never learn something new and will be sorry for not trying. Gotta stretch the brain all the time. Juno

This is the apron I want to make for DSIL.

She's 87 and doesn't see well. She's very conscious of how she looks and gets upset when she spills something on her clothes. I thought something in a pretty print would be good. I know I have a wild paisley in the stash. all jewel colors of red and fushia. It would look terrific I think. Juno

Oh, I agree completely!! I don't understand people who say they don't want to learn new things and refuse to try new things. How boring would that be?? And I figure the brain has to be like other parts of the body, if you don't use it, you will lose it!!

I used to think I could never make a jacket or coat. But it's no different from any other garment. You just make it one step at a time. Eventually, it will be all done. :)

Very nice coat, Sharon, congratulations. Beautiful color and such a classic style you should get lots and lots of use from it.

Ugh! I probably would have just taken an inch (or whatever was needed) off the bottom of the pocket bag. I rarely use a coat pocket for anything but holding my keys or a tissue...

You managed that entire job way faster than I would have. But I have to stop once in a while to breathe. :-}

Juno, that colored twill is so pretty; I'm thinking I may make myself a floral jacket later for late winter, early spring, maybe a fushia background with lots of blue in it.

Oh my, a mistake: should have read "One word: girgeous!": not 'on word'. Sorry, Sharon.
