Pictures of my stuff

It's certainly not everything I have made, but I was putting together some pictures of things I've made out of this and that and sewn together, and put them up on FrugalSewing.com. You can get there from the front page or you can go directly to the gallery using this URL -

'm trying to illustrate how you don't have to spend a lot of dough to sew. I met a young lady this weekend who knits and it was SO good to meet a young person who is getting into the fiber arts, regardless of what realm. I worked also with a woman who sews 18th century items for a living and it was so interesting discussing various sewing techniques and ways they saved money and time back then. She had some gorgeous photos with her. I could easily be swayed to do that type of sewing!

I started looking at the pictures of your stuff. I love the paddington quilt. But then my machine had trouble uploading (or downloading) all the pictures because there were so many of them. I will try again later when I have time to wait for the machine.

Nice website, Donna! It's good to be reminded of all the possibilities of recycling.

Maybe I should break them down into categories? I have more stuff to put up. I like just keeping a record of what I'm doing. I'll think about categorizing them because I know there are about 132 pictures right now. Hmmmm.... thanks for the feedback!

Thanks, Doreen. I'm pretty practical when it comes to sewing. I do buy fabrics when I want them (I have a HUGE black and white fabric collection), but I really prefer making something out of recycled fabrics or fabrics that need a home.

Nice things, Donna. I enjoyed looking and thought the switch plate covers were especially clever!

Easy too. Mod Podge is your friend! LOL You can match anything to anything

- curtains, whatever. I used to watch Carol something on HGTV - she did a lot of crafts - can't remember, but she had someone on doing switch plate covers with polymer. You have to use metal covers for that one, but they were so cool. I made several before I realized I don't like working with polymer clay! So, I fudged a way to make them out of fabric using any kind of plate cover, and my poor house and friends' house - all have decorative covers.

I saw Carol Duval on TV last week and she is still doing her craft shows. When we were in CA, she was on at a good time for me to take a break, so I watched her daily for over 2 years. I thought by now, she had retired, but no. I picked up many ideas from her, but could not make myself get into polymer clay, don't know why. Emily
