Pinstripes and Princess seams question

Hi everyone,

I am moving on to my newest project. A brown pinstripe suit......pants and blazer. The blazer will have princess seams.

I am just wondering if anyone knows of any rules that I don't know of. I have never heard anything specific about matching pinstripes in any ways. It will be straight grain up and down......no bias on any main pieces that I know of.

I need clothes for that new job at the insurance agency that I talked about awhile ago.

Anyways, if anyone knows something useful that may help, TIA.

Oh yeah, here is the pattern.......

Michelle,

Nice pattern, and it should make a handsome career outfit. I wore clothing like that for 20+ years as a banker (and enjoyed those days, but am glad they're over).

I'm not aware of any rule about matching pinstripes. They're usually rather subtle and non-matching shouldn't be distracting, IMO.

Best wishes in your new job!

Michelle, I made a wool pinstripe suit years ago: short fitted jacket and gored skirt. All I can say is be sure to watch the grain when you cut; I had no problems. Pinstripe is so attractive! Good choice!

Should work fine... Just try to line the stripes up so they meet neatly on the seams.
