Source needed: diaper fabric

Boy does your post bring back memories! I completely forgot about sticking the pins in Ivory Soap and the lost pins! I'm pretty sure if they ever change the floors in my first appartment the builders will find all kinds of diaper pins, all in singles like finding one sock in the dryer. :-) I'm going to use Velcro on the diapers I make. The baby's mother is my cousin and I know she will only use the cloth diapers until the baby fits in Pampers. Well, maybe she will change her mind by then.

I'm so glad you posted this message. The doctors have reasured my cousin that her baby's chances are excellent but you just never know. I'm a "good Karma, bad Karma" person so I'm not buying one item for the baby until after she is born. We already know she will be in the incubator for a few weeks, naked, and then moved up as her health improves. My plan is to have all my sources lined up. Then I'll place the orders the day she is born. By the time all the supplies arrive and I complete the wardrobe she will be ready to wear them, I hope. I have also gone through my fabric scrap stash sorting out what would be cute for a baby girl. The stuff I found that I had forgotten all about! One length of fabric is perfect because it is a tiny, tiny, lilac flower for a white background. The scale of the flower is going ot be just right for a tiny dress.

lots of babies have a reaction to the gel stuff or scents in the disposable diapers, but it looks like diaper rash so it's just blown off as diaper rash. also, the few times i used disposables on Boo when we were travelling, he got the nastiest yeast infections. i really disliked disposables. at least with cloth you know when the poor baby is wet & it's time to change the diaper. lee

Their customer information service is excellent, and the clerks are most polite, which to me, counts a lot. Emily

Thank you so much for your prayers. Our family is very hopeful. As of last Friday mom was at 30 weeks. Each day the baby stays put is a blessing.

That's what I though could happen. A baby this small needs special care, at least until she reaches a more "normal" weight. I want to provide nice soft things for the baby. She's should be surrounded with softness for a long while. Since I'll be making her tiny wardrobe I can pre-wash every piece of fabric. The baby's mother will know exactly what soaps, etc, are in the clothes before the baby wears them.

;-) You're welcome. Although the history of frozen veggies is interesting, too.
