Strange uses for familiar objects

I can add another use for the pipe insulation too. My computer chair is the type that has the full metal arms that form a '0' shape on its side and are attached to the base frame on one side and the back frame on another. On the top edge are padded arm rests but the front faces are the bare metal tubes. Back in March I bought a beautiful new acoustic bass guitar as a birthday present to myself and I lived in fear of scratching up the exquisite quilted maple finish on the tubes. I fitted a couple of lengths of the pipe insulation on the bare metal sections of the chair and no more worries! I can now play the bass in the chair without fear of getting the back of the guitar all scraped up.

I have to jump in here--and it's sewing related. I picked up a pair of ancient Singer treadle legs at a garage sale for a couple of dollars. I convinced my DH that I wanted to use these as pot racks. He took 8" lengths of lamp chain and attached it to each of the four corners on both legs and screwed hooks into the corresponding locations in the open rafters. The legs have now become horizontal shelves. Then he took two links of the chain and attached one link to the iron and opened the other link to form a hook to hang the pots and pans from. I saved a ton of cupboard space by hanging the pans and I can even use the top sides for lids. Now if I can just figure out what to do with...

ROTFL. That's the very best.

It would be more fitting, given this topic, to be some foam tubing :-)
