Well, thought y'all might like to know I did finally get the van back on the
23rd of June. The paint was done. BUT..... The van is a mess. They didn't put the lock back together all the way on the tailgate. (Honda dealer said about $300 to replace that.) They didn't put one of the protector things on the wheelwell. ($6.50 to replace that.) They didn't bother to clean up after themselves. There is rubbing compound everywhere in all the doorseals, in the cargo area, on the inside of the tailgate (big handprint looking blobs of it there) and ground into the carpet. There is also a large (about the 2" long and 1" across) red stain on the back of the backseat that was not there when I took the van in. Looks like it's going to cost between $75-$100 to get it detailed and hopefully get all the stains out. *sigh* Neither DH nor I want to take it back to that same place to have this other stuff dealt with. Also our insurance agent doesn't want us to take it back to them to deal with this.Talked to the manager of the body shop today. He called me on Friday last week to talk about the bill, but I missed his call. I didn't have time to call back before the shop would have closed, and I didn't figure he'd be in again till today. So I called him this morning. He said he can't take that much off the bill and would have the general manager call me. Whatever. He said they could probably fix it. I told him that he'd told me 4 days the first time and that turned into 3 weeks. Plus I have Zero confidence in his shop at this point, and really?? why should I??? So we'll see what the general manager has to say.
What a fun way to spend such a big chunk of my time. Not!! *sigh* Cross your finger for me.
