What's everybody sewing for Christmas?

Juno, I'm so sorry about your accident. And UGH!, shoulder injuries are just the pits. I hope you heal quickly and well, and are back at the SM soon.

Do take care of yourself and let your body heal. The projects can wait until you are up to them again. Know we send good thoughts your way.

Oh my, Juno, I'm so sorry.

OTOH, maybe this could be one Christmas when you don't have to run yourself ragged doing for others. Try to enjoy your leisure, 'cause we know you'll make up for lost time as soon as you're healed.

*aaaack!* Poor Juno! Take this as a message that you should not lift a hand (except in physical therapy, of course) until it's all healed up. Everyone gets a turn at waiting on you now. Sending pain-relieving, healing thoughts your way.

I really sympathize! I have a friend who tripped off a low deck and landed ~~~SPLAT~~~~. Thinking it was no more than sore, she put ice bags on her shoulder and stayed at the party. Found out later at the ER she had broken the top of the humerus. She's mending, but it's slow going, she has been in PT for four months.

Best wishes,

Beverly

Amen. When the "exercises" my doctor prescribed quit helping, I figured that that was all the improvement I could expect, and I'd just have to learn how to live with being unable to lift my arm high enough to signal a left turn. A few years later I joined a Nautilus club for unrelated reasons -- six months later I did an overhead press and the whole room applauded when I shouted "One!"

(Up until then, Randy had been picking the weights up so that I could put them down.)

It's only when a thread like this arises that I remember that I once spent eight weeks in a body cast.

ob sewing: I'm not making anything for Christmas, but I'm on the homestretch of making a black mock-turtlenecked T-shirt with darts and smock pockets for myself. After that, I think I'll make an ecru one.

I know there is a lot of pt coming. i have t o do well because when dh went for his PT for his knee replacement he was their. I don't think they'll let me slack for one minute. right now i just would like to spend the night in my bed instead of a recliner. Tried last night and just couldn't do it. It's hard because i'm very limited in pain relief choices because I'm so sensitive to medications. I have a list of drug allergies as long as my good arm. I'm glad to say though that i'm doing better getting in and out of the chair without assistance. Juno

Heh heh heh. The box went out yesterday.

To package the 8 pillow covers, I started with the red Feliz Navidad and put it inside a green tree one, with the openings reversed. Repeat, alternating colors, finishing with the fabric DSIL had started with. End result: it looks like I made her a pillow out of her goods. But wait! What's inside??

Told DB to have a camera handy, didn't explain further. He knows the gist of it.

(That would be the brother who once sent my requested set-of-four neon handled Black & Decker screwdrivers carefully packaged in a tissue-laden box from...Victoria's Secret!)

Happy last hours, everyone!

Reminds me that when the eldest DGS was 15, he wanted a camcorder, and we told him he'd have to be 18 at least before getting one. Of course, Gramma didn't wait, so he received a huge box wrapped in the Sunday comics. Different small items such as sox, a toothbrush, roll of film were on top of the next box till he got to the camcorder. His uncle was recording the entire scene on his camcorder, and it is fun to see the video even today after 6 years. Of course, the other DGC saw what was going on, so I haven't tried it again-maybe next year. Emily
