Looking for circular baking pan with rotating blade flush against bottom (to sweep and detach)

Hi, I wonder if anyone has seen this in the US. My dad has a circular backing pan that has a movable blade riveted in the center and runs flush against the pan bottom to the edge of the pan and then up along the side and pointing out. This allows one to, once baking is done, hold the outer end of this blade and sweep it around pan (sort of like a compas) and the blade separates the bottom of what you have baked from the bottom of the pan. Incredibly useful - no more wedging spatulas....

My mother used cake pans, similar to what you describe, 30-40 years ago. I don't know what brand she had or even where she bought them; however, I do know that similar are available from the Miles Kimball catalogs and online. I can't vouch for the quality of the pans, only that they are available.

My mom has one of those (she's in the US, as am I). I'll ask her where she got it and/or what the brand is next time I talk with her.

We had one ( as did my Mom when we were growing up), but we checked it. Too often it makes a mess of the edge or bottom of whatever you've baked. Plus, they're a bitch to clean -- you can never remove the blade, so you can never know if the bottom of the blade is truly clean.

A simple circle of parchment paper is simpler and works much better. If you don't want to cut your own from a roll, you can buy the circles pre-cut to fit your pan from any good kitchen store.

We "chucked it." Sorry.

I have two round cake pans like that. The thing is is they're actually two different brands. One says Bake King. The other one says Eckoloy.

Hi, I found 1 pan in my cupboard yesterday. Didn't even know I had it. You can have it if you like. The postage is on me :) Seriously, I won't use it. Chiquita
