4Rebekah Auctions Direct Quote (Longish)

My neighbors are collecting my mail while I'm away and I just received a message from Jon.

Here is the quote:

" Holy mother of God!! You paid WHAT for this necklace??? How much would you sell it for? Shar would adore it. I have never seen ANYthing like this is my life".

Jon's a pretty artistic fellow, so for him to say this must mean that he has seen a true work of art. I had sent him to the auction link so that he could see what I was expecting. The picture evidently doesn't come close to the

I must admit that in all of my 47 years, I have not seen much beaded work, other than the Native American work that I get to see when I visit my sister in Wyoming.

He said that he really is impressed with the size of the beads, the ruffling and the pod.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT. I WANNA GO HOME! Evidently, my niece is going to love it. He thinks it's too good for her to have at 10. Although she is very careful with her jewelry, and I will explain to her the handwork that went into it, I don't have any idea of how much time it would take an "average' beader to make this.

Anyone? Any idea of what you would price it at? Although her artistic side and the fact that it's a gift from her favorite aunt is HER value, and she will understand the overall artistic handwork, design, color sense, etc, I would love to know.

I can now number among you all!! In addition to my silversmithing...I now know how to do Ndebele and 2 needle RAW. WooHoo...life is pretty quiet here for me, so I had brought a couple of articles and some seeds to learn. Nothing I would necessarily show to anyone...but i will keep practicing. Should I learn 1 needle RAW also? That for me was more difficult, so I went to 2 needle.

It's an incredible piece, Lisa:) I was in love with it, and like I said, it's very much in my own style. I, in a perfect retail world, would have liked to see it sell for somewhere around $60.
