AD: Halloween Beads & Ending Auctions

I now have my first set of Halloween beads up on eBay. Candace's beads inspired me and I had to get to work. I just wish I had them in my hands to get some of that magic muse dust. LOL

I also have three auctions ending this evening.

I didn't see the original post so I'm piggybacking (not too heavy, am I, Margie? LOL)

I love, no, wait...I LOVE....no, wait...I SUPER_LOVE your folded up bat bead.

Awe, thank you. I like him too. I was going to hang him upside down alongside the big bat but there is such a difference in size it would have looked goofy. I am going to make more....

One thing, and it might just be me - I see fingerprints on the beads. I don't know why, maybe because you're a really good photographer and most people don't catch that level of detail.

Does the big bat have a face? I love that the little bat is hiding his face. Heck, I just love the bats unconditionally.

Way cool! How about etching a few of them, and putting some of that subtle glitter dust on others, and alternating them with pumpkins, and giving some eyes that glow in the dark?

Did I mention that I'm wild about the bats? ;-)

Those are great suggestions. I was going to pick up glow dust tomorrow when I picked up my boro rods. Guess I can play tomorrow when I get home.

Uh huh.

We have two huge colonies of bats in Austin. It's awesome to watch them on their daily departure from the bridges (1 million bats on one and 200,000 at the other.

The beads were in one of your sets along with one of your bracelets.

OKay, now I have to ransack my beads before I go to bed to see if I can figure this out. *laughs* G'night Starlia--get thee to bed, woman!

I would SO love to see a choker-length necklace made with five of them hanging upside down in bat-fringe! The funnest thing would be how long it would take people to notice that they were bats.

There are some big honkin' bats in my back yard. Big for this part of the world, anyway; most of the bats around here probably weigh less than an ounce. I have some big guys that have been feasting on the termite swarms, they must have had 10-inch wingspans.

Yeah, I was really surprised. You can HEAR their wings flapping! They're LOUD bats, too... they make a wide variety of chuttering and squeaking noises.

I have never seen bats that big outside of the zoo.

I wonder what kind they are. We have very small Mexican fruit bats here. We have them in the millions but they are still small.
