AD - Last eBay auction for a little while - lampwork

I've got lots of orders now and am going to also make some beads to take with me to CA, so this is the last ebay auction I will have up for a little while. It's a medium set in colors that remind me of my mom, who has great fashion sense.

HOT DAMN!!! Those are GORGEOUS!!!!! Keep those beautiful beads of yours coming when you can.

I wish I had some money to spend on them, but I need to get myself some more crimps, and jump rings and maybe a new thing of fishing line since I read the posts about Spiderwire Fusion and the Spectra line. I bought a 30 lb test monofiliment fishing line at walmart that is too big to double through the last few beads at the ends of alot of my pieces.

Thanks Marissa! :) I know what you mean - so many beads, so little cash!

Kandice,

Those are so beautiful! And I"m so happy to see your other auction up to over $170! Woohoo!

Monofilament of any kind is a no-no. Legally, it must be designed to bio-degrade. To rot in sunlight. It is by far the worst thing you could possibly use for beadwork!

Yeah, I am figuring out that I got the wrong thing...I really didn't know what kind to use or get since I haven't used fishing line until just recently. All my previous pieces had been done on beading thread or wire. I read posts about people using fishing line and I just kind of dismissed it as nuts...but now I see that it is better. I will have to see what I can do...There is a store in State College called Fly Fishers (I think), and they probably have what I want/need...I don't really know though...my hubby probably would though as he used to be really into fishing and fly tying (making colorful flys (fake bait) to attract different kinds of fish). After reading Kathy_NV's post about the Spectra and Spiderwire Fusion, I realized that I should be using that instead.

These types of fishing line run very high. The two spools I have I got for $15 and $8, so it's not a cheap alternative. I'm sure other beaders have better sources than I have. The fishing I do is just dip netting.

They do run high, BUT you get a lot more than you would say SoftTouch for the same price. So it works out in the end.

Right. The 49 strand wire is $20 -40 for 100 feet. In both cases, these are common prices, rather than well researched prices.
