Allergies

Argh, allergies! I never had bad allergies, but in the last few years they've started acting up. Hives last year, so bad my doctor offered me narcotics so I could just go to bed until they went away (they were so bad my feet swelled up and I couldn't walk, my eyelids swelled up, EVERYTHING) of course I declined because I had two kids to care for! This year it was something I can't remember the name of, to the effect of having wierd stringy mucous in my eyes. It was itchy and painful and gross. WHAT I'm allergic to is anyone's guess, but I'm not looking forward to next summer's allergenic grab bag surprise.

Yep, and asthma can be life-threatening. In my family it tends to start out mild, and progress as you age until eventually you die from it. Hopefully not until you're pretty old, though! Mine is still quite mild.

I'm getting better with mine. I had very few episodes this summer. Summer is my worst time. The allergy shots are really helping.
