I'm in the wrong field! Maybe I need to make one of THOSE bracelets and sell it. I could work one day a week and be ahead of the game.

I was just going to say I was in the wrong racket - oops, make that business! LOL!! And that blue quartz, if it's the same stuff I know about, is the same as cherry quartz - colored glass!!

Actually, I only see one that's brass. The rest are gold and goldfilled. And I have to keep telling myself that half the price paid is for the merchandise and half is for retailing it.

Kandice is my example. She can get some retail prices because she makes wonderful beads AND she markets them.

I'm not willing or maybe even able to do the marketing, I'd rather use my time making things only. So anything I sell, I expet to sell wholesale, ie, half of retail. And frankly, the things I want to make are going to be wholesaling for $100 - $200 and up. So the prices aren't really out of line. But the merchandise, that's a different thing. It looks like most of the materials are good quality, but I don't find it sufficiently interesting for the price.

you know, you are right. Some is marketing (wish I knew how to do that, much less having the time right now with these bulk buys...I need to slow down...I got materials now for myself!!!).

And I didn't notice til I posted the quality of the gold...I guess that would make up a *lot* of it.

I was intrigued by the cuffs, but they aren't something I would wear...

It's true - marketing takes up a lot of time and affort. :) But it's satisfying for me. It's definitely not for everyone though - sometimes I really don't feel like taking decent pics or writing website copy. :)

Holy crap those are ugly! I can't believe the agate one isn't priced $650! LOL. Hey -- we don't know that it sold at that price. I would have paid $5 for it (and taken it apart for the beads).

Come on, folks. She's making a product, marketing it herself, she's honest about the materials, the photos are good... if she can command those prices, good for her! She's benefitting everyone indirectly. Why are you tearing her apart?
