Any one from Pennsylvania area?

Question

I know there used to be some people from Pennsylvania posting here, but I can't remember there names. If anyone is from the Central Pennsylvania area, let me know if you are interested in a bead society. I know I haven't posted much because I have been very busy selling my jewelry until after the holidays. I miss this group and need to get back to posting and reading when I have a little more time. Hi Roxan!

I grew up in Harrisburg, but sadly (well, not really) I'm in AZ now. But I know that, at the very least, there are some lampwork artists in the area. If you visit Lampworketc.com or the glass section of wetcanvas.com, you'll find many of them.

I'm sooo homesick! Halloween in shorts & a t-shirt is just wrong!

Karen,   It was actually warm here for Hallowe'en as well, in the 70's. I changed out of my pirate costume after the Hallowe'en parade in the library, because it was just too warm to wear it.   Patti

Hi, Patti. Depending on where you live, there are three groups that you might be interested in:

Susquehanna Sizzlers is primarily made up of lampworkers, but we are interested in anything that has to do with beads and silver work. We usually meet in the York area, but the next get-together is targeted at Mechanicsburg--still in the planning stages. The website is:

Penn Dragons meet in Elizabethtown, PA. It's a great group of lampworkers and hot glass people. Their new meeting space is in Glassworks at the Banana Factory. The website is:

Finally, the Jersey Fire Devils meet in Collingswood, NJ and Philadelphia. Their website is:

These folks are also lampworkers, but when they meet in Collingswood, their home base is a wonderful bead store, Jubili Beads & Yarns. I hope that one of these groups will fit. I've been to meetings of all three groups and they're full of full, interesting, and very sharing people.

Thanks so much for this information. I think I met someone from your group at the Lebanon Gem show and bought some beads from someone there. I will keep this info in my file for when we get a bead society together. We would love to share information etc. with other groups. Roxan O'Brien
