I sent her a box of stuff, and she emailed me when she received it. I imagine she's really busy - but maybe she got hit with the virus or something.

Speaking of the class...I've got a question about ethics.
I would like to have some handouts for the kids with illustrations of knots and other techniques. I assume it's not ethical to copy these from a website or book. Do I have to make my own or is there somewhere I could get these illustrations that wouldn't be wrong to use?

You are correct - it is not ethical to copy and use them - WITHOUT PERMISSION.
It is very possible that you could inquire - since this is for YMCA and if NON PROFIT - then the owners would let you make copies for that purpose. Try a few of the website people first - since email is cheap and fast. Explain what you are doing - and what you would like to use. It never hurts to ASK. If you are CHARGING for the classes - then you might try offering a "royalty" of say $.10 a copy distributed - to be paid to the owner.... .and make sure that full CREDIT of the author and website is printed on the handouts.
Don't just do it without asking though... that is called copyright infringement.... Cheryl of DRAGON BEADS Flameworked beads and glass
Check out Boy Scout websites-- they often have knotting instructions, and would be likely to be willing to "share" with another non-profit org. Kaytee "Simplexities" on
Good idea.
