Bead related Antique fair visit.

I spent an hour doing one of my favourite things this morning. I went to the antique fair with my youngest son.

I got some beads. First was a blue and clear crystal necklace by "Exquisite" It is really pretty.

Then I got two vintage crystal necklaces, one a single strand and one double strand.

I also got a brooch in a Celtic type design. The pin need a repair doing to it. I thought it very striking with light amber crystal and 3 shades of green cabs.

The carnival glass were given to me by one stall holder because they one strand was broken from the clasp.

I have Vicki if she would kindly put a picture up.

I will be going to a fair next week. It will be the last one Chris will be able to go with me for awhile as he will be going back to sea.

I wish you could be here and I would have fun taking you.

About every 2 months there is a huge antique fair at Newark where there average 4,000 stalls. Some of them are outdoors so really need a dry day for them.

Wouldn't it be lovely for a huge RCB get together to go to that fair.

I have not been for some time because it is tiring for me. An early start is needed. Not only that it costs or did 5 GBP to get in. That is a big chunk of my spending money. Still we can dream. Shirley

I wish you could too Kathy. It is about the only time I get to spend with youngest son on his own. His family take up the rest of his time. Love Shirley

Both my sons are sailors. They both started as cadets with Fyffes Banana's in the engineering branch. Both of them made it to be Officers. When Fyffes sold out to foreign owners David and Chris were made redundant. They both had a spell ashore and then got in to electric's.

David the elder, unmarried one, trained in computer controlled robotics. He is my computer whizz. When I can pin him down. He went back to sea first as Chief Electrical Engineer.

Chris my antique hunting partner who is married with 3 children did not go back until a year ago. He too is a Chief Electrical Officer.

They both work on the North Sea Cargo ferries and they are on sister ships. They literally pass in the night.
