Re: I'm new - and addicted!

Welcome Mary from Shirley in the UK.

I sell a few pieces but mainly have given them away as gifts. Where ever you go you will be on the look out for beads. I am off to an antique and collectors fair this morning to see what is on offer there. Hope you stay with us for a long time Shirley

Welcome!

Yes, lots of sell, and lots of us give away.

Learn and practice and develope your own style. The pieces that look like you -- those are probably the things that will sell the best when you get to that point!

Oh, how I know! I don't scrapbook, but I do a lot with mixed-media. On any given day, I spend as much money at the scrapbook store on paper, stamps and goodies as I do at the bead store.

Again, welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work.

vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from snipped-for-privacy@mindspring.com (Lee S. Billings) :

]My name is Celine, and I have a great deal of power over beads! I can select ]the ones I want (and leave the rest behind), and I can choose the patterns that ]I want to put them in. Then I can "let go" of my finished product in order for ]someone else to enjoy it! ] ]Celine (tongue in cheek)

In this case its an interdependant relationship. Neither party leans heavily on the other but hands are joined for mutual benefit... kind of what I picture the ideal marriage does ...each lending the other its strengths and boosting each other over their weaknesses. Diana
