Very nice pieces, I'm a simple elegance type of person, so i'm simply drooling. I sure do like the photos, too, you do a great job. Dh is an amateur photographer, and i'm considering asking him to photo my jewelry from now on.

Perhaps it's just me, but I see *nothing* wrong with the pix that you took, as far as selling. What I would do in addition is some closeups, so that people can see details. And those, I would make "plain".

But that's just my opinion!!!

BTW, yes, you have a good eye for the jewelry, I like it! Clean.

Hey, you're off to a great start. I like the lighting too. You're right about the focus as far as work for jury or sale. The ability to click on a piece of jewelry and get an enlarged view or maybe (or plus!) a detail view of the piece would also be very nice.

Thanks all for the warm reception, yer probably stuck with me now! I would like to find out where people get their semi-precious beads. Some of my first pieces involved amethyst chips and ever since I have been hooked on stones, 8mm rounds, and all sorts of freshwater pearls being my current faves. Glass is nice and there are some wonderful beads out there , but for me, I just like the natural stuff.

I also looked at all of your sites and have to warn you, I will be asking lots of q's etc! First thing I want to get better at is getting a more polished or finished look to my pieces, I think sometimes I finish and it looks like I said "enough fer me lets just crimp this sucker". Also my wire wrapping on earrings needs practice, getting there but I just need to do it more.

Trade shows-- Gem Faire, here in S. Calif/elsewhere in the West, has lots of vendors who specialize in semi-precious. Other trade shows are in the East, etc-- some advertise here.

Bulk Bead Buying-- a Yahoo group.

LBSs-- usually unusual pieces, or those items that shouldn't be ordered sight unseen.

Rio Grande-- good, consistant quality. Some people like Fire Mountain Gems, but I find the quality to be variable, and the prices (with fees, S&H, etc) aren't so much lower that it's worth the gamble.

eBay-- occasionally, the only place to get something.... Kaytee "Simplexities" on

As Kaytee said, trade shows. Semi-precious are best bought in person until and unless you find a dealer you can trust. I often find stuff I bought from a catalog wanting in quality. That is just me, but I have always used a large amount of semi-precious and of bali, and I like seeing that stuff in person first.

DAVID -- thanks to Sarajane, I looked at your email address and HELL YES he is in Columbus, Ohio. So am I big dude! You just missed the gem show at Vets and another in cinci. I just closed down my Ohiobeaders circle on Yahoo, where I posted shows in Ohio for ohioans, because it seemed that no one ever used it but me. Stay here and I will keep you informed. Might even meet you and Beckie there, and then we can compare in person!
