seconded. also, look for local "Rock & Gem" club shows. many of the dealers show up there.

You might look up JBC International in Chicago, IL. They only sell wholesale, but all of their stuff is first class. If you don't have a resale license, get one. It's not hard to do, usually costs next to nothing and will save you tons of money in the long run. HTH Barbara Dream Master

It's a totally different group. The folks on rec.crafts.jewelry are, for the most part, pros. Like most groups, it's one where you need to lurk for awhile to see what (and how) to post. Since most people on there are pros, many have little time or energy for beginners. And some can be rather crass, others are just blunt. Lurk there for interesting info. This group is a lot more laid back and fun. A lot of OT stuff, but far more friendship.

I've been there. Before I moved to Texas, I used to regularly attend OVFF, and it was in Delaware at least one year.

The coolest shop I ever found in the Columbus area is What On Earth, at The Continent shopping center. I used to just go in there and drool!

Yes, I am learning......I did get a few things at the gem and jewelery show at vets....I have gotten a few catalogs and am constantly shopping the net. But to walk into Byzantium is still a treat!..My jaw hits the floor everytime......DH likes going in there too......He has started commenting on beaded jewelery that actresses are wearing in various shows and movies.

I haven't been to Pink Flamingo as of yet. I don't like driving in heavy traffic do to panic attacks, so I depend on DH or my oldest DS. I have to go somewhere several times before I can drive it myself. Go figure :-)

I graduated from Gahanna!!! So did my brother and 2 sisters. We lived on Flintridge Dr.

sigh....small world. I graduated from there in '75, my DH went through the next year. My mom worked the schools there too. But then, that was back in the slow old days of Gahhanna, days of the Rag Doll Bar and Grill (which, amazingly to me was NOT for kids) and Shadwicks Hardware, where somewhere in dusty rows of amazing stuff you could find almost anything, and new comics came on Wednesday afternoon down to Martin's Pharmacy. I know right where Flintridge Dr. is---I lived on Douglas Drive for several years! Sarajane

me too, ditto on the panic attacks, so I get driven instead--works out better for everyone. When I had a store on High Street above the old Agora (long ago) I had no car, just rode the bus everywhere. When I was riding through Columbus streets this last summer I was amazed at how different High Street is becoming--seems they've torn down the whole eastern half of the street! Geez, leave for a decade or so an they go and change stuff on ya! Sarajane
