Photos of my new studio table!

It's not finished yet. Heck, it's not even cleaned up yet! I just couldn't wait to show you guys... The white stuff you see is the protective film on the stainless steel table top. Which is rather funny since I got the table top in an old junk pile in Cleveland and it's all banged up and wonky.

Thanks! And oh what fun it's been to tear down the old sheetrock from the walls down here. I love the brick, once you get to that layer. LOL!

I sure will, sweetie!

Tomorrow is the beginning of The Great Furnace Adventure, Part Deux. My studio is in the basement, so I don't think I'll be getting much done down there until the guy is finished. Hopefully sometime Thursday.

Hoping to get the ductwork sucked out Friday. Then Saturday I have out of town guests coming. Well, it's my best friend. So I guess it isn't a guest in the true sense of the word. I'm really looking forward to our "cuddle date"! Nothing like snuggling under blankets, watching movies, eating junk food, getting backrubs and giggling to make a Tinkster feel better! It's like a pajama party, but with no grownups. LOL!

Looks great, Tink and I love the colors of the drawers! Should inspire much creativity!

What do you do for light down there? Incandescent, balanced flourescent or full-spectrum flourescent?

I can't do fluorescent because it gives me a headache. I tend to work mainly in the dark, with two lights (incandescent or halogen spots) shining directly on the flame. There's often some indirect, ambient lighting in the room, as well.

Gee that sounds like fun! Wish I could be there!

I'm sitting around waiting for recovery to occur. I had my surgery on Monday. The Dr. found that a piece of my bowel had adhered to my abdominal wall. It was partly kinked and had a place where a loop of intestine could become trapped. No wonder I was having all that pain and all those problems! I'm looking forward to being well again! I love your table. The colors are wonderful. I'm assuming those are drawers? Have a wonderful time with your visitor. My sons will be home for Christmas. That's all I need to feel better! bingo! i'm going to miss having a houseful of kids.

but - Johnny invited US to HIS apartment for dinner on Christmas Eve [since he has to work], and then we'll go to midnight mass together and then to my mom's the next day. that will help a lot.

Yeouch, Barbara. Glad you have some good information, finally, on what the real problem is. Take care.

Oh holy crap, how does something like that happen? I am so glad to hear about it after it has already been fixed! You poor darling.

Hugs, Barbara, I know how that goes, btdt. I'm praying that you heal quickly and are up on your feet in no time.

It happens due to some insult to the intestine. Something as minor as being handled during surgery (I have had 3 previous abdominal surgeries) can cause the intestine to "bruise" then heal while being pressed up against the wall of the abdomen. They then become one with each other. I believe it can also happen due to a hard blow to the gut, as in an accident. I don't think they're sure why it does it, it just does. It's one of the reasons they make you get up right away and start moving around. That way the intestines shift around and don't have time to adhere to each other or the abdomen. I think they were surprised that I only had the one adhesion, with all the surgeries I've had. Thanks for all the get-well wishes everybody. I plan to be up to snuff by Christmas, no matter what!
