Oh, you guys are TOOOOO funny. LOL!
It's been a madhouse around here lately. Per normal. Prairieson went back to work today after nearly two weeks away from work with the flu. Amazingly, I haven't gotten it. Yet.
The new furnace is in, and it's amazing how much better I feel, health-wise, already. I firmly believe that old furnace was slowly killing me. I spend nearly all my time in the basement... My computer was behind the old furnace, and my studio is on the other side of the same room. I'm glad to be rid of the thing. It took the fellow three days to put it in, and during that time I couldn't do anything down here, especially work on my studio.
Last weekend and this, my best friend crashed here on her way in and out of the state. It was spectacular having her around. Much needed for me and, I think, for her as well.
Since the furnace guy finished up, I have been working non-stop on the studio. It's an "L" shape, and I am quite pleased with the end result. Today, I turned on the oxygen generator for the first time. Filled the tank, then bled it. Now I need to check my gas fittings for leaks. Once I'm sure they're ok, I can actually attempt to melt something.
I am a pretty brave and daring grrl, most of the time, but it's pretty intimidating having so much new and alien stuff to set up and get used to. I need to finish up and get comfy quickly, as I have an out of town student coming in the 26th and 27th. Yikes! She understands that she is my guinea pig: I have always sworn that I would never A) teach beginners or B) teach in my home. It should be interesting, to say the least :-) She seems very nice, and is coming from a long way away... Boston! I hope she leaves feeling that she is taking away with her more than just tips, techniques and data. I try to inspire my students with a love for the process and a diminished obsession with product.
I also finally installed the new hard drive I've been sitting on for a while. The computer has been unusuable for a few days, and for a few days before that, it was all covered in plastic to protect it from the fallout from the furnace removal and installation. The computer has been working great lately, and I really hated to tempt fate by ripping her open and shoving new equipment inside. While I was in there, though, I installed the DVD burner my ex got my for my birthday. Someday, I'll have the time to try it. LOL!
It won't be long before the RCB/WC gathering in Florida, affectionately referred to as Tinkapalooza! I hope everyone who is coming has a safe and uneventful trip!
Well, it's time to soap up my gas booster fittings and maybe... just maybe... actually get to melt something tonight. Wish me luck!
