It's finished: happy dancing!

Look what I've done!

I'm so pleased with my little self, I keep going up and chacking it's all finished. OK there are a couple of boxes that need internal sorting, but I cna take that in easy stages. I can't wait to get started on a new project.

I learned some things whilst I was doing it, too.

1) It's liberating to let go 2) It's OK to do things bit by bit 3) Stopping and then going back can lend a new perspective 4) I have altogether too many bags and boxes 5) Memories and emotions can be triggered by the smallest thing, and need to be managed carefully, or they can get overwhelming.

and

6) It's very satisfying when it's finished!

Thanks for the encouragement.

I DID IT! YEY!!!

A HUGE Well done, Nel! That sounded like an enormous task, as you described it - and you've done it (far more quickly than you suggested!). So, masses of Brownie points and pats on the back.

You can thin out gradually now, as and when; but now it is or will be a delight to work in. If you're not ready to paint the black walls, you could make a collage of pretty pictures all over it!!

Congratulations and welcome to your new sewing 'home'. . In message , Sartorresartus writes

WOW! You did a GREAT job! Now I have to clean my sewing area- I went in there, looked around and decided to make a handbag instead. Now I feel shamed into cleaning... LOL

We are all proud of you- enjoy your wonderful 'new' space!

HOOOOeeee! Nel. Wow. Atta girl. Just as soon as the sun goes down a bit and the temp drops from 110° the gators and I will do s-o-m-e happy dancing. And yes, it is hard and it is necessary sometimes to part with some things that will never be and it does indeed take a sentimental toll. BUT ! ain't it grand to be done with it? Yesss. Polly

Well done Nel! The studio looks fantastic. Loved all the pix. (where was the 'before' shot'? ) It should be an inspiration to everyone if they have need to do a really big clean. Happy quilting! Bronnie

Doing a great big happy dance for you! I'm encouraged. Even though the studio is on hold right now (it has been one thing after another this summer and fixing the car, etc. is always more important than the sewing studio) you are encouraging me. I know I'm going to have a lot to let go of, but a nice clean new place has to be worth it!

I am very impressed and somewhat envious. I suppose I could get past the envy if I tried putting some order into my sewing space :-)

You did a magnificent job. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
