REQ: Can anyone point me to findings or settings for cabochons and stones?

Harry, have you found settings yet?

Are you looking for standard sizes or are you looking for bezels to fit odd sizes and shapes. I like Rio, but I know there are better deals to be found. I find them to be adequate for now, until I find the time to do more research.

Hi Tina, I think I may have found a few places to get them. I am looking for all sizes up to about 3 inchs. I would like some that are what I call crazy shaped, to fit free form items and also ones that are different shaped. Round, square, rectangle, and others. If you could maybe email me some links or if you know of anyone wanting to make and sell these would be great. Just remove the extra Y in my Yahoo address. I put it there to slow down the spammers. well, you can do wire wrapping and make your own.

Yeah, I saw the bezel wire there, with the filagree on one side. I just wondered if there's source that has the filagree on both sides, so it could be wrapped around something round instead of soldered to a base.

I have quite clumbsy hands, so the soldering is what I was trying to avoid, of course. Of all the arts and crafts I've tried to do. Only soldering has brought me to tears.

I tried diligently in the silversmithing I took at the university. I had to quit the class (auditting was not an option) in order to avoid flunking. At least I had already learned by then that my manual and digital dexterity were barely normal, so I knew it was just a physical limitation.

could i take you up on that if i ever get back there again???

i SO want to be able to solder silver. using a flame doesn't make any sense to me at ALL for the little spot soldering i want to do, but . . .

If I am ever there can I stop in? I see a very good buisness for you starting here. Have you thought of giving classes? or do you? Yes I am a man, but that doesn't mean all of us know how to solder! lol Plumbing isn't my game. lol
