Questions for Kathy NV

i know i'm bugging you about it. i'm gonna figure it out one way or another. i'm stubborn.

Stretch magic: all i can find is .5mm. is that what you use? do you warn people about it breaking? does it break easily? do you use 2 strands? if i do a watch band, do i need to do anything to protect it from rubbing against the metal of the watch face?

[mumble, mutter, gritch, groan]

You aren't bugging me at all. And it's good to be stubborn.

No. I use the 1.0 mm, and I see that Michael's is now carrying 1.5 mm Stretch Magic as well.

No, because it rarely breaks. (Besides, they all get the bracelets for free!)

No, because I use the thicker stuff. If all you can find is the 0.5 mm, I'd definitely double it.

I've never had a problem with it rubbing against the watch face. I simply thread it through the holes and tie my knots at the watch end. Also, I seal the knots with clear nail polish.

I have a ladybug bracelet beside me that has seen almost three years of daily use. It's not broken, but the Stretch Magic is a little more stretched than I'd like. I'm going to restring it because it looks odd, although I don't think it would break for some time.

Hope this helps,

Kathy N-V

You're going to have to swear better than that! Swearing is my way of rating the difficulty of any project: if it requires a lot of swearing, it was a "challenging project."

P.S.: DD has been having a wonderful time all week with the paper dolls you sent. She's been coloring the clothes, doing the cut outs, and making her father faint when all the clothes fall off. (Having no sisters, he never learned that paper dolls are compulsive nudists) Thank you so much! It's made life with my little flu-baby a lot easier.

It's early, and I'm clueless. SJ sent the paper dolls, not you, VJ. So sorry about the confusion.

trust me - i was! i just try to avoid it in print! up until a few minutes ago. i could NOT get that stuff to go through any of the beads i had. and the idea of doing RAW with it boggled the mind!!! i mean, i know you're a saint, but . . .

THEN i realized that since i was using the 0.5mm stuff, it would go through my "wide-eye" needle! speeded up the process tremendously!

[i'm working my way through my "brown" box. it's all Nicole's fault.] PS: 1.5mm will NOT go through any beads i have, and forget tying a knot in it!!!!

Do you try to hide the knots inside the beads? because my knots keep coming undone. and i really think i'm tying them properly. . .

Vicki -- I have the heavier stretch magic, bought it to fix a bracelet for a client. Give me your address.

Just kidding, but I have sprung an interest in all this. I have got people wanting to use tumblers, and now these same people have me wanting to do beading. lol
