Ok...bear with me...LOL. At first glance, I wasn't sure I liked it, mainly because it's a different palette than I'm used to for myself. Then I started envisioning it finished, and laying against a black dress, or even a white one, or.... It's something that would look great with anything. Personally, it's sill not my style, but it is striking, and different from anything I've ever seen. Sorry, wish I could be of more help.

LOL! not to worry!

do the COLORS look like they go together? no one here has any color sense. and DH's taste is all in his mouth - if there.

Hmmmmmmm... actually, I rather like it. ;-) A light blend of pink and green, reminds me of a rose garden. The black added to it is a nice neutral filler.

I hope you finished it with a decorative toggle so the large bead can be in the front?

Sweet. :-) More summery and it's getting towards fall, but I like the color combo.

yes, actually. i should have specified that that is only 1/2 of it.

thank you! it was the color combo that i wasn't sure about! i was thinking maybe with all the black it would work on a black dress, but maybe i've gotten the seed beads too light?

I like it because, to me, the colors are unexpected. Kind of like the mishmash of spices and odd things I put in my chili --- You might not think of putting them together, but it works. Nice job!

Hi VJ, It looks great overall; the design is very pleasing. The only slightly false note is the dark magenta / red color seed beads. The eye is looking for the magenta / red to be repeated somewhere, and the same with the purple / pink of the glass hearts. Those colors are the only jeweltones in the necklace; this similarity makes the eye notice that they are mismatched. The magenta / red seed beads are much warmer / stronger than the pink / purple glass hearts. Still, sometimes a little warm / cool contrast is good for interest. It might work if, instead of having a block of magenta / red, you dotted them here and there in the twisted part- and/or bracketed the pink hearts with the magenta / red.

Did that make any sense? For the eye of the average person, it's not bad enough to do over, but I'm assuming you see the same thing, otherwise you wouldn't have asked.

I'm awake, since I just got up. First I have to say that I wouldn't wear this. It's not me. BUT, this is not bad at all. Really interesting choices on colors, I can see this on several peoples necks. Good job!

don't throw anything at me, because you're probably right, i'm just not quite sure i understood it.

i actually considered making "bead soup" of all the seed beads except the black and the green . . . but "random" is d*mn near impossible for me - no matter what i do, i start repeating patterns.

Love the colors, and want to know how you get those twisted areas to stay twisted.

Is this necklace meant for the clasp to be worn in front? If so, I think that one of your little repeats of hearts is upside down. (Actually, one set looks upsdie down to me, either way) The reason I ask about the clasp is that I think the Tink bead will naturally pull forward, being the heaviest item on the strand. I think I'd like it better with the clasp in front, anyway.

ah - okay. those hearts are a "raspberry" color. looks like what's in the strands doesn't match closely enough.

well, underneath the Bali on each end is a crimp bead. it only stays twisted if you can keep the twist in it all the way the entire length going in the same direction and manage to get it crimped twisted. i'm definitely going to play with it more and make sure it really is going to stay before i put it up for sale.

not at the moment, no - it's just only 1/2 done. i am so focused on getting the colors just right i haven't gotten any farther.

would not change the necklace. I bet it will look great with a black]shirt or dress.

i definitely need to go buy one, and then have someone teach me how to use it. printing it won't work, because the colors wouldn't come out quite right. i'm gonna add it to my shopping list for tomorrow!

of course, when i was growing up, they said you couldn't put: pink with red blue with green etc. etc.

I would suggest purchasing a color wheel that has quite a few variations. You can buy the basic ones, but I like the wheels with graduations of color.

If you need any help with the wheel, let me know. I'll be happy to call or email you. Did the directions on the web page help?
