Strangely enough, I actually cared about the size of the diamond at one time. I remember telling Bob that if I was going to have a ring to wear for the rest of my life, I wasn't going to be happy with some "crappy ring from Kay Jewelers."
Ouch.
Now that I'm a lot older, I realize that the ring is essentially meaningless. I'm happy to have it, but I'm a lot happier to have the man.

**grin** actually, i agree with you completely. i didn't particularly care whether i had anything other than a plain band.DH presented me with his mother's rings. Jamie took one look, and said: "MOM, you're WEARING my CAR!"
it's beautiful - antique setting. but they mean more because they were hers than anything else.

I think I prefer mine, not that I've got a problem with the size I just prefer a flatter setting than that. Mine's 5, 7 point rocks in a setting that's had many appreciative comments.
Geez lady! That thing is honkin'!
