Show-n-Tell: Inspired This Weekend

I finally finished my mom's necklace with the beads she bought from Cheryl. AND my very first Kandice necklace. Woo-hoo! I don't know why I was so inspired to make necklaces this weekend -- I've never made them before. Probably because I don't actually *wear* necklaces. But, for some reason, the muse knocked me over the head. I haven't put these up on my website for sale yet (and not sure when, or even if, I will) -- this isn't an ad; strictly show and tell. Just hoping you might want to take a look. I'm still a beginner and always appreciate feedback.

I love those, especially the one with the Kandice beads. I like how the necklace is symmetrical and balanced even though you didn't repeat the beads exactly on each side. The fishies are a wonderful accent, too. I'd wear that one in a heartbeat, and if you don't mind, I'd like to use it as inspiration for something I'll make sooner or later.

As for the watch, after reading your husband's comments, all I could think of is "it's a floor wax - it's a dessert topping! it's both!" Darn, I'll have that in my head for the rest of the day...I just know it.

I should try making something in black and white. I've never done that before. After the kimono, though. I'm limiting myself to weaving no more than one mass of crystals onto it per day, or otherwise my hand hurts too much afterward. Wouldn't a polymer clay kimono in black and white be something? ummmm. Maybe with Bali accents. double ummmm.

(Stay on one project at a time, Kath. That way, Bob doesn't freak out about the house being one big bead soup. I can't even really tell him off for it, either -- he's been doing all the housework for over a year.)

I hate the smell of fish -- absolutely won't eat it -- but I *love* fish as decoration. Go figure.

it as inspiration

But of course!

Exactly!

Thanks for taking a peek. I appreciate all the feedback.

Thanks! The thing about the watch is that it's really simple -- nothing really "special" about it, but I still LOVE the way it looks. I'm getting ready to make some more in different colors.

"Simple and light" sounds like a decent critique to me! (And, yes, the beads are *yummy*.) Thanks!
