Brick Stitch earring patterns

Jul 25, 2006 20 Replies

Ok, apparently I'm terrible at searches, but I remember, a while back, seeing some cute brick stitch patterns on a site, but since I was so new to seed beading, I didn't mark the site. Now, I can't find them. If you know of a site with some cute patterns that would be good for earrings, would you let me know? I remember one site that had a bunch of them, but for the life of me, I can't find it now. (Grrrrrrrrr)

I love to look at beadwork for inspiration, and when I'm searching for seed bead work I've googled:

beadwork beaded jewelery (beaded earrings, etc.) seed bead jewelry

Are there any key words I'm missing to search for bead work.

I looked at Dr. Sooz's list and all the bead work there is so (WOW factor!) over my head. I keep looking around for things that I think I can possibly do.

Hi, Jerri. I'm not familiar with the site that you're describing, but here's a link to a pattern for some really cute brick-stitch fish earrings. I made these and they are very fast and easy:

I've gone all through that site. There's so many things I want to try making from there!

Thanks Maren,

I've tried that too. I guess I'll just have to keep digging.

I don't know if you're interested in books, too? There's "Beaded Images" and "Beaded Images II" by Barbara Elbe. It's all designs using brick stitch.

Cheers, Carla

Jerri, I don't think anything with beads is "over your head". You have done some very amazing things for a seed bead "beginner" Armand

If they don't have to be free (some are most not):

has got tons of everything. I love some of the bird earring patterns there I think they are brick.Brick earring turns up 254 results. Ingrid

Awwwwwww, thanks Armand. I get so overwhelmed when I see some of the beautiful work that's out there. Sometimes I'm amazed and inspired, and other times I think I'll never be able to do it!

Luckily, most of the time I'm amazed and inspired and want to try even more!

WOW! Lots to look at there! Thanks! I think their prices are a little hight ($4 for a tiny, simple pattern?), but it gives me lots of ideas to play with with my graph paper.

I was looking for free patterns first, but darn! Now I want both of those books. Lol.

The artists set their own prices so some will be high and others not, don't forget to search "free" because they have lots of free patterns there too.

Barbara Elbe has a beadwork site where she has some patterns free and for sale, they are very cute. I can't find the birds I liked at beadworkpatterns now, I think they might've been by her as well.

Did you see my things in Barbara's guest artist page. She must like them because they have been there years. LOL Shirley

I'd seen her site. Love it! There are some chickadee and some blue jay earrings in gallery #5.

Those are very nice work!
