Bumps In The Road (And where is everyone?)

Is everyone too busy to bead? Well, I've got a bracelet to show. I think this was in issue of Step by Step Beads. It was called Bumps in the Road:

I like this bracelet a LOT! This one, however, is going to be a gift for my neice.

I haven't been on the torch in the past several months, mostly because of my

13 yr. old, who's been ill. This has been going on for a couple of years, but got worse this year. Thankfully, we have a good doctor, and she'll be ok eventually, but my beads are pretty much on hold for a while.

I am enjoying some seed beading, and made myself laugh when I looked at the subject line and thought about how my life has been lately.

Also, my hubby made me a loom, which I love, and today he's making the kiddo her own loom, too. I've only done one little project with it, and haven't finished, but it sure is fun. I'll share pictures when I get some.

Keeping us laughing is our crazy little dog, Caesar. We took him through a Dog Obedience course, and he got the Most Improved Terrorist award. He really is a pretty friendly little dog to both people and dogs, but he has to have about 30 seconds to try to convince everyone that he weighs 80 lbs instead of 8. He gets along well with Spike, Romeo, and our 85 lb foster dog.

When were were babysitting my neighbors' dogs, the big lab was shedding, so we made Caeasr a toupee. I couln't help coming up with some funny pictures:

Thanks, Shirley! I really like this bracelet, so I hope my neice will too!

Caesar is definitely a hoot. I'm not sure how they got so much personality into 8 lbs!

click on "Glass Art", then Glass Art Lobby and search. I will be MIA for a few days, we are moving my MIL into another part of her A/L facility. Please hold good thoughts and prayers, it will be a very difficult time.

Love and miss all of you,

Patti

Thanks. Well, as usual, it's pretty much, "Let me see what I have on hand that goes together." as for color selection.

I did go by the LBS, but they're pretty limited in what they have in 8's and

6's. Sigh. My dream is to have a Shipwreck or something down the road!

Dear Jerri

The bracelet is gorgeous!!! I LOVE IT!

I have been busy to - life just flies by sometimes, doesn't it?

Everytime you POST a picture - I just know I am going to LAUGH!!!!

THOSE doggie pics are just a scream..... he looks so serious..... and the hair...!

Guess what -- My son and his girlfriend bought a GUINEA PIG!!!! no kidding

I told her I was going to buy it outfits and dress it up.... LOL It is mostly black and brown - with some white - and curly /cowlick type hair. They named her "Snickers"

She is still young - doesn't do a lot of talking - but loves carrots.

Glad to hear your daughter is getting better - from whatever was the problem.

I should try to post more often... Cheryl

Love the bracelet. I am busy with end of year school preparation. Tonight is the Sports awards and I coach Badminton so have to make a small speech. Last week speech finals and so it goes on.

Meanwhile weeds are growing well with all our rain and I have jobs piling up for fine days.

Cheers, Jan

Jerri,

The bracelet is very cool!

I moved, so things are still busy. Most of my beading supplies are still boxed up although I do have my clay stuff out. It's a shame too because I got these awesome vintage (no hole) gems in a trade recently that just beg to have a beaded bezel around them...or bead embroidered...or... ;-)

Good to hear from you!

Thanks, Cheryl, I really love this one, too.

Congrats to your son and his GF on their piggie. Snickers is a great name. As grandma, you are allowed to buy costumes. She should be popcorning which is a lot of fun to watch.

Thanks also for the thoughts on DD. We have a ways to go, and probably a couple more years of dealing with it (GI related), but eventually it'll be ok.

Oh Jer! That doggie just kills me! ~ SNORT ~ SNORT ~ SNORT ~

Well I've been busy at my FT job, which well, just takes too darn much time. My boss finally decided to "change" my theoretical work schedule to match my actual schedule - LOL. I just ain't a morning person. I told her I felt like she'd given me a raise. But I'm going to pretend I still have to be there at the old time, so I'll be on time for the new time. I'm chronologically challenged.

Anyway, the sweet baboo is doing MUCH better, he's gained up to 9 lbs 6.4 oz in four weeks since he left the hospital at 5 lb 13 oz! Of course mom is tired as all new moms are but she's hanging in there just great.

Meet a very nice man, OFFLINE, will keep you all posted.

Hugs to all, and no I don't have time to bead! LOL In fact, I can't even find my beading table any more. Anyone want to come help me clean up? I'll pay in BEADS....

Oh I forgot to add, sorry about your daughter, here's hopes and prayers that she will grow in strength and health, and God give you patience to deal with these challenges.

Hey, how about starting a Caesar fan club? Or at least his own web site. That dog deserves exposure! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Karleen,

So glad to hear about your grandson! Sounds like he's doing wonderful. Tell mom to nap when he naps! I remember those days. Lol.

Thanks for the encouraging words. It's just one day at a time right now, until we get through this, but we will.

I've thought of making Caesar his own mailing list, just to send out whatever recent photos I've taken of him. He seems to be getting his own following. Lol. He does have a page on my website, but I'm not sure it's enough!
