Curious

Mine was half a surprise, I got 99% Neo Pagan and the next closest match was Liberal Quaker. I thought of the puritan on the oat packaging ;-) and scratched my head. Then I went and read up on it and they have some things I agree with after all. Of course the spiritual survey doesn't take my bead greed into account, since simplicity and austerity are part of that faith. I'd loose quite a few points if that were a factor.

I took the quiz, and I scored 100% Unitarian Universalism and 99% Liberal Quaker. My cousin is a Quaker, so that part didn't surprise me in the least. What did surprise me was that Theravada Buddhism and Neo-Pagan also came up in my top five.

DH and I have just been through religious h*ll with our respective mainline denominations because of our "mixed" marriage. Mind you, we've been married more than 20 years and our marriage wasn't a problem in the church until very recently. But suffice it to say that for obvious reasons, we are "looking." I've emailed the link for the quiz to DH. It will be interesting to see his list. We are ready for a change.

ROFL!! It takes all kinds. Some people are trained to let their fear rule their lives.

That would be me. :) The ceremony (we call them rituals, or rits for short) was one part moving and solemn - respecting and honoring those who have passed on - and one part celebration. The celebration is of endings and new beginnings - the Witches New Year. Death and Rebirth. It was a lovely ritual, and we had a lot of good feedback from those who attended.

We also have a public ritual at Beltane - on May 1st or thereabouts - which celebrates the union of God and Goddess. It's a fertility ritual, complete with dancing the Maypole. It's a lot more light-hearted, and we usually hold it outside.

I'm an eclectic Pagan witch. I usually just default to "Wiccan" because it's recognizable and people understand it, but I was raised in Native American spirituality (a sort of vague, urban tradition; I'm NA but was born and raise in Portland Oregon) and my mother's background is a lot of hillbilly herbwomen, and I discovered Wicca initially when I was about 15-16 and then rediscovered it when I was about 23. I incorporated a great deal of Wicca into my beliefs and ritual practices but I'm not, strictly speaking, a proper Wiccan.

I'm very > Hello Ladies and Fellas,

There's a couple of really good phrases! I like those, Kalera, thank you. "Default Wiccan", now thats one to work into a song lyric somewhere, and it goes well with "hillbilly herbwomen". There's a strong Cherokee link in some parts of the Appalachians, I know...

Yep - same here, Kalera. Wicca was the first branch of the craft and paganism I came across, so it's the one I learned about first. But I personally am an Eclectic Witch - I incorporate a lot of different traditions into my practice.

Mine came out neo-pagan with Buddhist leanings. Which I already knew. But it was fun!
