ever plan a whole bunch of errands including a stop at the post box, find that your huge bead order arrived and discover that all the VERY IMPORTANT errands you had to TODAY, are suddenly not so important and could just as well be done tomorrow; then you zoom home, tear open the package and spend the rest of the afternoon sorting out your new, beautiful treasures? Mine are from dear Marjean. Ahhhhh bliss.......

If I even veered off my list I would be in dire trouble. Having severe ADHD is always a problem. If I get package, I don't even touch until I get home. Sick, isn't it?

< Not sick at all. A very good practice to be in I think. It reminds me of me when I go to the store for anything. I do not shop compulsively. I go in with my list... get what I came for... and I get out. There are a few times I have picked up items that I needed and forgot to put on my list, but those times are rare. Keep on keeping on! You are doing great!

Not at all - it shows you've adjusted to your ADDHD better than I've been dealing with my ADD. Chances are you've had more time to adapt tho - I wasn't diagnosed until I was about 43. I denied it, of course, but my friends and loved ones convinced me otherwise. Now I've had 5 years to try to.........................

Hey! Look at the birdies flying past the window!

Wow, this is amazing....i have ADD, too...and never met anyone else (adults, that is) who have it. It makes me feel so much less weird. (Not completely, though, or i just wouldn't be me anymore) To answer the original question, though, my whole world stops until i open a package and play with the contents.

I have to open them right away. Or if I am meeting someone for coffee, I'll open them there. After I look at them I can wait a little longer. Of course with this mental energy depletion problem (Depression), I can't do long lists anyway.

But yeah, I HAVE to open them as soon as possible.

I hope nobody gets the idea of sending me a kea.

Yes, I know I'm totally irrational and insane in this matter. I don't care.

I must be an undiagnosted case... because I just KNOW I have ADD :) and the compuslive one too, but I was diagnosed with that one. muahahahahahahaha

MUST open bead packages before anything else, after all, you *might* have to buy more. :)

Don't worry Kathy.. They would never make it out of the country... Customs would come visiting both the intended receiver and the sender and you would all be locked in a small room about the size of 6'x4', never to see a Kea again... LOL

Can't see it happening somehow....
