My 12 yr. old had to do a report and a "commercial" for Ancient History, so she did her report on Egyptian jewelry. I'd been toying with the idea of making an Egytian collar, so I went ahead, and she wore it while she performed her commercial. (If any of you have heard the Tom Shane jewelry commercials, she did a parody of them. It was pretty funny.)

I'm probably going to do a class on these for an arts program that my DD is in. (12-14 yr. olds) My DD caught on to it really quick, so I think it will be ok for these kids. I thought this was a lot of fun to make. Also, I bought some BAD stones at a bead show. They were supposedly peridot, amythest, citrine, and blue (Aquamarine or blue topaz?) Well, they weren't any of those, just clear, as I found out after I'd made this tree:

Since I used some citrine and peridot beads that I had from another source, there's a few of those in there. Someone said it looked like a dogwood, so I'm not calling it a mistake anymore! And since some of you like hearing about Spike and the foster dogs, here's a pic of Spike (R) and our latest, Hobie. You can tell this was after a good play session. A friend of mine said they look like they could be cousins. Lol.
