Oh boy did we get into trouble today!
Kathy (KDK) came down last night, and we went to the Intergalactic Bead Show in Atlanta (actually, NE of Atlanta, not too far from where I live) today! I think I get into even more trouble when I have an accomplice who encourages me!
We got there about 10:30, only stopped after 2pm to meet hubby and DD, and then DD accompanied us for the last couple of hours and spent her whopping $27 that she'd been saving on treasures.
I was mostly looking for some 4mm and 6mm stones for wire bracelets, but I also got some inexpensive stuff to use as "filler" for necklaces. Here's a pic:

Kathy and I had seen all these big flat beads, and wondered what the heck you do with them. Kathy prefers small things, and I kept telling her that the bigger stuff grows on you and, "Just wait a year or so, when you're holding a huge cab or bead in your hand saying, 'That's not too big!'" Well, towards the end of the show, this one booth had these gorgeous bracelets made with these big flat stones, and it was like, "So that's what you do with them!" I'm not sure I have the right bali for them, so I may not be able to make them until later, but I had to buy some:

Now I could kick myself for not taking a picture of Kathy and I to share with you all. We had a great time, and I think I'm on a bead high now. DD has even said she'd like to save up $100 for the next bead show! And the guys where she bought most of her stuff kept giving her that "cute kid" discount! ("Oh, it's $5, but I'll just charge her $ for that, oh, and for this one too.") It's not fair! I'm the cute kid's mother, so I should get a discount too!
