Hello everyone! Just wondering if you know anywhere to advertise my glass bead fringe manufacturing businesss?

Hi everyone,

I've been working with a lady in USA who makes things with the glass bead fringes that we produce and I wondered if I could open the opportunity to others who create crafts.

Here's a link to the type of thing I mean:

Thanks for reading and I hope this doesn't constitute as spam. Cheers! Chris B.

I'll stick to making my own fringes one bead at a time.

We do our own fringes here, thanks. We're beaders, not crafters.

Seriously. Fringe is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to beadwork. Whenever I make amulet bags, I can't wait to get to the fringe part cause I love it so much.

I would only buy pre-made fringe if I had something like a costume or article of clothing that needed to be fringed in a hurry, and I didn't have time to do it all myself.

hahahaha Of course you would! I've watched these ladies in China make them and the amount of time & work & patience it takes is incredible. Very soothing if it's a hobby.

Do you have any pics of your bead fringes? I'm so inspired by beauty.

Thanks for responding JoAnn!

Thanks Dr. Sooz & Amber!!

I totally understand now. I misunderstood the difference.

I think that lady uses them for lampshades etc.

I'm going to explore this group more, I'm so intrigued by creativity.

Thank you so much for responding to me. This is indeed a very nice group!

Not yet. Maybe when I get my kitty bag done. It needs a FABULOUS fringe (translation: Honey, we need a second mortgage.).

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I understand.

I've just been checking out the links to some of the websites in this group - I'm totally stunned - you people MAKE beads! WOW!! I can see why my request is totally useless here!! LOL! LOL!!

Impressive and beautiful. Keep up the outstanding creative work everyone!

Chris B

Chris,

I think this does constitute as spam... You spammed another n/g I read too with this post! This n/g accepts ads but only if you put AD in the subject line.

Mavis

Well, I don't MAKE them. I just pay big bucks to artists who do. :-)

This is a great place to hang out and see beautiful things. Come join us.

I'd do my own fringe even for a lampshade! Love fringe, like Amber. ~~ Sooz

Yeah, this is a fruitful group.

I actually forwarded this on to my friend who works in antique lighting... they often need fringe to restore some of the grand old chandeliers, and no one there has that kind of skill, or time.

No, not really useless... I know at least one person who may be interested. Beaded fringe is one of those things that not very many people need to buy pre-made, but when you're one of those people, you're up a tree! I forwarded the link on to someone who has had a need for it in the past.

You might see if there are any newsgroups for fans of antique lighting. Old fringe rarely holds up over 90+ years, and new fringe is almost impossibly hard to find, let alone at a price that an average middle-class family can afford.
