Help find beads

I am confused!! I hope some kind sole will help me out here.

First off, I am not a beader but I am planning to make beaded stick pins as party favors. The information I would be grateful for is this.

I am using 18 ga stick pins. I would like some small gold beads or filigree beads or spacers (gold) but I don't know what size would allow me to get the stickpin into the hole diameter? I did order beadcaps from Ebay and would dearly love to put a small gold bead ot spacer bead on either end of the bead cap before the next bead.

I appologize if my terminology is not correct and hope you can understand what I'm needing help with. Somehow, I've been put in charge of this party favor and I have no one else to ask who is a beader.

That's pretty large, I found brass beads more often had a large enough hole for stick pins, most standard 2 and 3mm gold spacers don't. Most cast pewter beads have large enough holes and many plated plastics too. Your best bet is to ask the person selling a spacer you like, if the hole will be large enough.
