Help finding a source....

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a source for the eyeglass loop holder listed on eebeads.com at:

If you scroll down to the miscellaneous section, you'll see it. It's a sterling silver loop with two eyes on the top. I'd like to get some for my MIL's birthday, but eebeads is out of stock :(

Anyone know someone who carries these or something similar?

Thanks!

Joanne (please don't reply to the email address listed, it's my defunct hotmail acct. If you prefer to reply by email, respond to the thread and I'll drop you a line from my home account....darn spammers! they make our lives difficult!)

Thank you Kandice, but I was looking for the ones that you can use to make beaded necklaces with. Those were all brooches. (and WAY expensive!)

Still searching....

Ooops - sorry. Well, I did search ebay and google and found nothing else, so maybe this was a specific design done for that vendor only and not available anywhere else.

Maybe, in a pinch , you could use just the round end of a toggle.

vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from jmm snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com (jmm_ny) :

]Yup, I've used the round end of the toggle myself in one that I made ]up. But, it just seems so....wasteful. :) Any creative ideas for ]what to use just the bar end for?

there was an article in Bead & Button about that - the lady who did the article used them as "charms" on a bracelet.

you could also just leave them on the "necklace" to be hooked in front.

Well, not off hand I don't but I do have an idea. Whenever I'm digging through the toggle clasps drawer at my LBS I've notice that the amount of clasps do not equal the amount of bars. If you a LBS that has this problem maybe you could get a discount on the loops?

I think that I would use the wine charm loops instead of the toggle for a couple of reasons. They're the perfect size for hanging spectacles off of and they lend themselves to creativity. Use two small jump rings (what is the smallest available?) in between beads on the loop, you'd have your two loops. By george, I think that would work! If you try it, report back. I'm liking this idea and might give it a go myself.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you....I read/post from Google at work and I missed your post! (ssshhhhh...don't tell anyone...)

We have a LBS but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS and the selection isn't very good. But maybe it's time for another trip down there.

I DO like the wine charm loop idea. It also would mean a thinner loop, which I like. When I try to find the bigger toggles (diameter wise), they always have a much thicker loop which I didn'l like so much. Hmmmmm....

But, alas, I checked back with eebeads and the original one I was looking for is in stock. So, for now, I may just buy those and try some experimenting on my own.

Thanks for all of your input!

Joanne
