no food by mail?

Thanks for the warning because I need to mail a couple of bags of bott boi noodles to a friend in California. This just means I keep my mouth shut at the post office about what's inside of it.

They are now also *fingerprinting* every foreign national arriving in the US. Of course, they don't HAVE fingerprints from bin Laden or any other uncaptured terrorist to compare these prints with, so it's difficult to see the rationale.

Yeah, this sucks bigtime. Now I can't get Kindereggs from a Canadian vendor for Easter. Read the FDA regs and on this and it's amazing any food gets across the border. Wonder how many small importers (here) and exporters (there) are going out of business because of this?

Kyla, Actually most of the time we used the fingerprints after a body was found, and the video was shown on the tv.

I must've just got through in the nick of time; I posted some Australian dried spices to a friend over that way just before Christmas...

If you're a private citizen, and the item isn't obvious when wrapped, you can of course prevaricate about what's in the package. Do you have a friend in Canada who could get the eggs and ship them to you?

i think so too. i just know there can be a lot of foodstuff shipped between members here and wanted to let them know they might want to "mislabel" their packages.

Yeah, a friend refused to have it done and they did nothing about it. Apparently they're also fingerprinting people on exit in someplaces too. This is truly ridiculous.
