Help with Japanese instructions

Gday Beader Buddies,

I'm a newbie to both newsgroups and beading, so please excuse me for any blunders I am Sure to make.

I wanted to make some beaded animals, (looks like they are made from faceted round crystals,) however the only book available is written in Japanese. Being optomistic, I thought I could work out the design as it did have some pictorial instructions. Needless to say, I have been unable to solve the riddle.

I wanted to make these little animals for daughters, grandchildren and friends in time for Christmas, but the way things are at the moment, it won't be this one.

Any suggestions as to help with the translation or very likely some clever munchkin has already deciphered the code and can point me in the right direction. Sadly I can't even quote the title of the book which of course is also in Japanese. It does have a number " 336" and a web site "

That about sums up the information I have and the dilema I am in. Regards from the Delima Down Under Cireen

If you found the instructions on the site, you could try to translate them thru Google...

Thanks for the reply Sterling n the suggestion, but I bought the book n therefore am unable to have it translated as it is not a web page. I tried scanning the instructions in an effort to overcome that but it scans as a jpg file so no luck there either. I thought it was likely that others had also run into the same problem n may have some suggestions I have overlooked. No luck so far though. Am battling on trying to figure out the diagrams but it is very frustrating as you can imagine. Thanks again for taking the trouble to read and reply to my post. Happy beading Cireen

When scanning text, you don't always have to make it into a jpg file, or any graphic file if you don't want. Your scanner should have come with some sort of OCR software, but who knows if it can "read" Japanese. I'd say you are in a fix, unless you can find someone in your area who can read Japanese and interpret the book for you.
