How to finish this necklace?

Hi everyone

Here is my problem-

I made this necklace with a black string ( not sure exactly what this silk type string is called). I dont know how to finish it, ie put the clasps.

I have these spring looking things that I am supposed to put on the ends of the string, but then I am not sure what to do. Also these spring type ends are either too big or too small for my string, and also too hard to be pressed by any of the pliers. How to I close off this necklace?

Thanks! Richa

Hi Richa: I have used those spring ends for closing on all sorts of cord (cotton, leather, satin). Some of them are very hard to close without pinching your fingers. You need to take the tip/edge of the wire (not the loop end) and press it closed after you insert your cord. Tying a small knot and then putting it in the spring loop for a thinner cord is best. If you can't get that to bend closed, you may need to grab the end of the spring (again not the looped end) and pull it out just a tiny bit (pliers with teeth are better to grab the tip), then bend it closed flat with a flat edge plier (to prevent extra scratches). Use the side of the pliers for extra strength to flatten. I hope that helps. D.Jean (ACJewels)
