I don't think that would go over too well here. Too bad you don't live in Massachusetts - I just checked and "Beader" is available, as well as a whole slew of other beady words. We are limited to 6 characters, though.

True story: Years ago, when I drove into Boston, we used to pass a blue Infiniti with the license plate: "D-Bag." For the longest time we laughed about it, wondering how the Registry of Motor Vehicles let that one go.

Eventually, I started taking the train to Boston, instead of driving. I made a bunch of friends on the train, and we'd sit together every day, yakking about nothing. One day, one of my friends mentioned her insane co-worker, who liked to be called a very bad name. She liked this name so much that she had the vanity plate "D-Bag."

Arrrrgh! I was stunned. If anyone called me that name, they'd be shopping for new teeth. But it was for real, and as far as I know, she's still driving around with that license plate.

Nope, we have no vanity plates on our cars. IIRC, they're $100/year here, which is too rich for me. The lady at the Registry was really nice, though, and got us a plate that says "55 XXX," for the '55 Buick.

That's really neat!

And I loved the D-Bag story!

COE is Coefficient of Expansion. The glass has a rate at which it expands and contracts. Glasses have to be within 3-4 pts. to be compatible. Most lampworkers use Moretti, wich is 104. Boro, however, has a very low COE, like 32, I think.

Part of it is that the plate is too long - we have a limit of 6 characters. In Mass., the RMV has been burned a bunch of times, and the first four letters of your abbreviated plate: Cocka2 would be instantly deemed offensive.

BTW, the D-Bag plate was from Rhode Island, which is reputed to have looser standards that those in Mass.

Sorry,

The one I'd want is a spelling they'd never allow: Beadho. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

I like all of those. I can only have 6 letters here but I was thinking of a custom car tag too. Very cool.

Okay...then here's one for you....how about SAUCY-G. (I don't think they count the dash as a character.)
